Job summary

Manhattan Road & Bridge Company, Tulsa, OK, is seeking an Estimator to join our preconstruction and estimating staff. The role focuses on developing detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects and procuring work for bids.

The estimator will prepare budgets and assist with purchase orders and subcontracts. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, experience estimating heavy civil or DOT projects, proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree.
• Experience estimating and/or constructing projects in heavy civil or DOT industries.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with take-off software (AutoCAD, Agtek Earthwork, Bluebeam, HCSS Plans) and HCSS Heavy-Bid (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Quantity take-offs for projects and bids.
• Solicit and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Prepare estimates and bid submissions.
• Prepare budgets and conduct buyouts.
• Assist with purchase orders and subcontract production.
• Organize estimate hand-offs and communicate bidding logic to operations staff.
• Maintain cost history database and track changes.
• Assist in change order preparation with project management.

Our Corporate Office (Tulsa, Oklahoma) is currently seeking an Estimator to join our preconstruction and estimating staff. This position will office in one of Manhattan’s division offices (Tulsa, OK, Oklahoma City, OK, or Springdale, AR). Qualified candidates will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree
• Experience estimating and/or constructing projects in heavy civil or DOT industries
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to use take-off software (ie. AutoCAD, Agtek Earthwork, and Bluebeam, HCSS Plans), and familiarity with HCSS Heavy-Bid software (or similar) – preferred.

Summary of Position:

As an estimator, you will perform a variety of estimating and preconstruction duties; including but not limited to developing detailed cost estimates and procuring work for heavy civil construction projects. The estimator will also prepare budgets from cost estimates and participate in the preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts.

• Assist in change order preparation and negotiations alongside project management staff
