Job summary

East Coast Metal Systems, Inc., a division of Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal, seeks a construction estimator in West Virginia to support bids for commercial facilities and projects. You will perform takeoffs, obtain quotes, attend meetings, measure sites, and prepare reports while maintaining high quality and coordinating with project teams across disciplines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction cost estimates by doing takeoffs and analyzing all costs.
• Obtain quotes from vendors and subcontractors and ensure scopes meet project needs.
• Attend meetings and speak with customers, professionals, suppliers and team members.
• Field measure and take core samples on existing buildings.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
• Document actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to keep teams aligned.
• Stay current with professional knowledge through education and networks.
• Research upcoming projects and track bid volumes for reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares construction cost estimates by doing takeoffs and analyzing all costs associated with the work.
• Obtains quotes from vendors and subcontractors and ensures that scopes and qualifications meet project needs.
• Attends meetings and speaks with customers, professionals, suppliers and team members.
• Field measure and take core samples on existing buildings.
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
• Research upcoming projects
• Track bid volumes for reporting
• Other duties as assigned
