Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. seeks an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects involving steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and structural fabrication.

You will review drawings, determine material and labor requirements, and develop detailed quotations to support profitable project execution. The role supports ISO 9001 and API Q1 certification standards inside our fabrication facility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in fabrication, machining, welding, or structural steel manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications.
• Knowledge of material costs, welding processes, machining operations, and fabrication labor estimating.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating databases.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and structural projects.
• Calculate material requirements for carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals.
• Determine labor hours, outside processing, tooling, freight, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Develop accurate proposals and pricing for customer quotations.
• Coordinate with Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure estimates reflect current capabilities and market conditions.
• Maintain estimating databases, costing models, and historical pricing information.
• Identify project risks, schedule requirements, and potential cost impacts.
• Participate in project handoff meetings upon award of contracts.
• Assist with contract reviews and customer clarification requests.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating accuracy and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and applicable ISO 9001 and API Q1 requirements.

The Fabrication Estimator plays a key role in securing new business while ensuring estimates align with our manufacturing capabilities and quality standards within an ISO 9001 and API Q1 certified facility.
