Job summary

Paul Davis is seeking an Estimator to join the Estimating Team serving property owners and insurance representatives, delivering complete, accurate, and profitable estimate packages. You will work with team members and external entities to capture project scope and drive the estimate process.

Responsibilities include modeling scope with Xactimate/Symbility/T&M Pro, submitting packages with supporting documentation, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable vehicle.
  • Advanced software and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Minimum two years of estimating experience.
  • Minimum two years of construction/restoration experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a customer service liaison to insurance adjusters and other insurance carrier representatives to maintain and grow strategic relationships.
  • Utilize Xactimate/Symbility/T&M Pro to model the scope of work for mitigation, reconstruction, and contents estimates with an emphasis on speed, accuracy, and profitability.
  • Submit complete estimate packages including all required supporting documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and managed repair program guidelines.
  • Drive the estimating process from initial draft through revisions to final approval.
  • Create preliminary budgets.
  • Perform site visits and field documentation duties as necessary including various visual documentation and material sampling / processing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in all aspects of estimating through technology, process improvement, pricing research, and constructive feedback.
  • Assist with training of new and existing employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

This position is part of the Estimating Team that serves property owners and insurance company representatives, working with team members and cooperating with external administrative entities to deliver a complete, accurate, and profitable estimate package to insurance companies and their policyholders. The Estimator has expertise in estimating and documentation platforms, managed repair relationships, and job management systems to effectively capture the project scope of work and drive the estimate process.

Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable motor vehicle record
  • Advanced software and computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  • Minimum two years of estimating experience
  • Minimum two years of construction and/or restoration experience

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in the insurance property damage restoration industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or related field
Physical Requirements
  • Pass a “fit for duty” exam, including but not limited to: able to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time; work in low, crouching, or other challenging postures; lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to access and navigate attics and crawlspaces
  • Able to climb ladders and inspect roofs when necessary
  • Able to use hand tools and power tools to collect material samples
