Torgeson Electric, based at our Topeka, KS headquarters, is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our employee-owned team. This role focuses on preparing accurate estimates for electrical contracting projects, analyzing plans, and collaborating with project managers to ensure precision.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of electrical estimating experience, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with estimating software such as Accubid.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in electrical estimating.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
• Proficient in using estimating software (Accubid preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or construction management preferred but not required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical contracting projects, including materials, labor and equipment.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid proposals.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates.
• Utilize estimating software to prepare and update estimates.
• Conduct site visits as needed to gather information and verify project requirements.
• Maintain an organized database of historical project costs and pricing data.
• Assist in the pre-bid meetings and site visits to better understand project scope and requirements.
• Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and pricing strategies.

Torgeson Electric is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our team of employee owners at our headquarters in Topeka, KS. This position will be responsible for assisting in preparing accurate and timely estimates for electrical contracting projects. This role will require a strong understanding of electrical systems, attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for electrical contracting projects, including materials, labor and equipment.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid proposals.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates.
• Utilize estimating software top prepare and update estimates.
• Conduct site visits as needed to gather information and verify project requirements.
• Maintain an organized database of historical project costs and pricing data.
• Assist in the pre-bid meetings and site visits to better understand project scope and requirements.
• Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and pricing strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in electrical estimating or related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
• Proficient in using estimating software (Accubid experience preferred but not required)
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Excellent analytical mathematical and project-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

This position is based full-time at our headquarters in Topeka, KS, and may require occasional travel to project sites or client meetings within the region.
