Estimator – Tempe, AZ. Working with minimal supervision, the Estimator prepares accurate, timely, and competitive bids for Commercial Entry Door Systems, supports our sales staff, and drives profitable sales while building strong customer relationships. Industry knowledge and experience are required.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly develop and use DH Pace estimating processes, procedures and software, as well as other business software such as Excel and Bluebeam.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of door and door‑related products, including functionality, special features, usage options and pricing variations.
- Understand core product lines, vendors and labor standards.
- Educate the sales team on product options and assist customers in product selection to ensure a sale and the best project outcome.
- Perform effective quote‑request review, scope creation, material list, and product selections to generate accurate project cost estimates and bids.
- Estimate advanced and complex projects, writing proposals clearly and concisely for manager review before customer presentation.
- Promote a positive attitude toward outside contractors, vendors and colleagues.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Meet or exceed estimating volume expectations based on experience level or tenure.
- Manage time effectively while sustaining individual and team workloads.
- Work overtime as required.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of commercial‑door work experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer‑service skills.
- Strong language, written and mathematical skills.
- Computer‑literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
