Job summary

ComNet Communications, a national network infrastructure integrator, is seeking an Estimator for a full-time, hybrid role based in Tempe, AZ. You will review plans to prepare accurate cost estimates for structured cabling, data center, wireless, security and AV installations.

Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, labor/material budgets, vendor/subcontractor quotes, detailed proposals, pricing databases, and market-based cost models.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating for low-voltage, network infrastructure, or construction projects, including reviewing drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills for quantity take-offs, cost modeling, and budget development using spreadsheets and estimating tools.
• Knowledge of structured cabling, data center, wireless, security, or audio visual systems, and familiarity with industry standards and installation practices.
• Effective communication and collaboration with project management, engineering, vendors, and customers in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• MS Office proficiency and ability to learn estimating and project management software.
• Relevant experience in telecommunications, electrical contracting, or construction estimating; prior work with nationwide or multi-site deployments is a plus.
• Degree in construction management, engineering, business or related field preferred.

Role Description The Estimator role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Tempe, AZ, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for reviewing project plans, specifications, and customer requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for structured cabling, data center, wireless, security, and audio visual installations. Day-to-day tasks include performing quantity take-offs, developing labor and material budgets, obtaining and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotations, and preparing detailed proposals. The Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineering, and sales teams to clarify scope, identify risks, and support bid strategy. The role also involves maintaining pricing databases, updating cost models based on market conditions, and participating in handoff meetings to ensure smooth project execution.
