Job summary

Delaware Valley Paving is seeking an experienced construction cost estimator and project manager to lead bids, develop detailed cost analyses, and supervise multiple projects in the Salt Lake City area. The role requires strong skills in interpreting complex construction documents and coordinating with vendors and clients to ensure bid accuracy and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Civil Engineering, or Project Management (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of construction industry experience with proven project management capability.
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex project documents and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and delivering effective, persuasive project proposals and presentations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret plans at all stages of development, from schematic and budgetary designs to fully detailed 100% construction documents.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Evaluate and qualify vendors and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Analyze and compile data affecting costs, including labor rates, materials, equipment, and location factors, to produce precise and timely estimates.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage project-related portals and documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining high standards of organization and time management.
  • Review project scope, specifications, and potential risk factors to determine bid feasibility.
  • Oversee special assignments and provide support for strategic initiatives as needed.
