Job summary

Consigli Construction is seeking a skilled Estimator to lead complex & large-scale project estimates. You will conduct conceptual and negotiated bids, budgets, and value engineering while coordinating with design teams and owners.

The role requires a strong grasp of market conditions and proven accuracy in labor and material takeoffs. As Chief Estimator reports to the Chief Estimator, you will supervise the estimating process, develop compelling bids, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with minimum 3 years in estimating field.
  • 8+ years of experience in construction.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Proficiency in specialized estimating software.
  • Understanding of market conditions impact on pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the estimating process runs smoothly and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs.
  • Analyze drawings, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost and labor estimates.
  • Facilitate collaboration amongst team members.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor.
  • Understand full scope of project through document review and design questions.
  • Prepare value engineering and risk analysis.
  • Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.
  • Prepare cost comparisons/reconcile with previous estimates.
  • Manage Subcontractor solicitation & selection.
  • Prepare Exhibit B or scope sheets.
  • Ensure quality control of bids and estimates.
  • Prepare an in-house budget and GMP.

Estimate complex and large-scale jobs, including conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, subcontractor relations and staying abreast of industry developments applicable to estimating. Responsibilities / Essential Functions?

  • Ensure that the estimating process runs smoothly and efficiently, and client expectations are exceeded throughout the duration of the project(s).
  • Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs and expectations.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects.
  • Effectively facilitates collaboration amongst team members.
  • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
