Job summary

Niles Enterprises is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead estimating and preconstruction activities for select projects. You will build relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients, compiling complete estimates under the COO's supervision.

Responsibilities include bid review, quantity take-offs, preconstruction scheduling, and hand-off to the Project Manager. You will manage multiple deadlines with precision, use estimating software and Excel, and communicate clearly with internal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the construction industry with familiarity of building codes, laws, and regulations
• Understanding financial practices and accounting policies
• Understanding computer-related programs
• Three (3) years+ of estimating both competitive bid projects as well as conceptual budgeting for projects within the construction industry
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to coordinate, manage, and direct others

Responsibilities

• Follow up with subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers to ensure bid coverage
• Review and qualify submitted proposals
• Assemble the proposal documents
• Review the complete bid breakdown and proposal with the Chief Estimator
• Update and finalize Bid Book
• Perform Contract Review
• Prepare summaries of work
• Perform Estimator to Project Manager Handoff meeting
• Help the project manager throughout the project duration
• Assist with projects and assignments as requested by management

Summary Of Position

The Estimator organizes estimating activities of the specific projects as they relate to estimating and preconstruction activities. Estimators are responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Estimators are ultimately responsible for compiling the complete estimate for specific projects assigned under the supervision of the COO.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Establishing Bid

• Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documents
