Job summary

A leading construction firm in Colorado is seeking an experienced Estimator to manage pricing and bidding for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have significant estimating experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Responsibilities include developing conceptual budgets and value engineering strategies, alongside preparing contractual documents. Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with ground-up and conceptual estimates.
• Experience in commercial, healthcare, and public projects a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with commercial, healthcare, advanced industries, corporate interiors projects, and public sector a plus.

Responsibilities

• Price and bid on construction projects.
• Develop and execute value engineering strategies.
• Prepare contractual exhibits for subcontractors.
• Represent the company professionally with clients and subcontractors.
• Prepare contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontractors.
• Assist with final assembly of estimate presentation for Owner.
• Represent Howell with Owner, Architects, Consultants, Vendors and Subcontractors professionally.
• Build strong relationships with clients and Howell project team.
• Become a subject matter expert in Preconstruction Best Practices.

What is the opportunity?

Key responsibilities will include :

• Pricing and bidding of construction projects with an ability to price alternative opportunities.
• Understanding construction methods and identifying constructability issues
• Developing complete and accurate conceptual budgets based solely on a written narrative and/or concept plan.
• Developing and executing value engineering strategies
• Preparing contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontractors
• Participate in the internal estimate review process and assist with final assembly of estimate presentation for Owner.
• Represent Howell with Owner(s), Architects, Consultants, Vendors and Subcontractors in a courteous and professional way.
• Build effective working relationships with clients and the Howell project team members.
• Become a “subject matter expert” in Preconstruction Best Practices

Who are you?

You should possess the following qualifications for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Preferred 5 years+ estimating experience
• Demonstrated experience with ground-up and conceptual estimates
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with commercial, health care, advanced industries, corporate interiors projects, and public a plus
