Job summary

Southeast Culvert Florida is expanding its estimating team and seeks an experienced Estimator. The role focuses on providing accurate material takeoffs, evaluating plans, and delivering timely estimates to customers for storm drainage products.

We are looking for hard working – customer service oriented individuals that are self motivated, honest, well organized, and with excellent communication skills to help continue our growth throughout the Southeast.If you are looking for a rewarding long term career opportunity, be part of a growing team and sell products that are proven and accepted widely in our industry then we may be the right fit for you.Position: EstimatorMission:Provide accurate and timely estimates to customers.Analyze plans for potential value engineering opportunities.Identify potential liabilities as they relate to SeC products.Roles & Objectives:Produce accurate material takeoffsRecognize and identify issues or liabilities and address them quicklyPerform material takeoffs from drawings to validate design and proposed quantitiesAnalyze data and correlate findings to future sales and material needsIdentify opportunities to expand responsibilities through data trend analysis and competitive insightsProvide clients with value engineered solutions and prepare value engineered estimatesCollaborate with Engineering to coordinate value engineering opportunitiesCollaborate with Sales on prioritization and support on time delivery of quotationsStay informed on industry changes and participate in water quality related organizationsCoordinate with other departments regarding takeoffs, load size, delivery distance, etc.Collect and organize key documents (plans, blueprints, drawings, specifications) for easy retrievalEnter orders for WQU and UGD chambers and sediment pondsCompetencies:Numeric ability and reasoningAbility to prepare submittals, drawings, and approvals for underground retention and chamber systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Excel, ERP systems, and engineering softwareAbility to communicate easily with contractors, sales, engineers, and ownersAccuracy with data and numbersComfortable and competent meeting and speaking with clientsCapable of understanding and following business processesVery detail oriented and diligentBasic understanding of business functions and processesStrong ability to learn; serve as lead for Titan implementation and provide input and recommendationsDelegate work and maintain the estimating scheduleAbility to prepare CAD drawings for UGD chambers and sediment pondsSize and produce submittal drawings and quotes for WQ and UGDSize and produce value engineering comparisons against competitor products and build CAD drawings in support of SalesUtilize Plan Rooms and Bid Boards to identify potential projects to bid, value engineer, and follow up with EngineeringMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, building networks, and participating in professional societies
