Job summary

Our Columbus, OH area client is a fast-growing masonry contractor seeking an Estimator to join the team. You will review drawings, perform takeoffs, and prepare cost estimates for multifamily, commercial, and institutional projects.

Collaborate with owners, vendors, field personnel, and accounting to ensure bids are accurate and timely. The role supports bid preparation, submittals, material procurement, and on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in construction estimating or related field.
• Knowledge of masonry construction materials (CMU, brick, stone veneer).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software and MS Office applications.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs and bid documents to prepare accurate project estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using estimating software.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and submit competitive proposals.
• Communicate with customers throughout the bidding process to secure new business.
• Coordinate with the accounting team to transition awarded projects from estimating to active jobs.
• Prepare and submit material submittals in accordance with project specifications.
• Procure materials and coordinate deliveries to meet project schedules.
• Collaborate with field superintendents to keep projects on schedule and cost within budget.

They are committed to delivering quality workmanship, exceptional service, and building lasting relationships with their clients.Position OverviewThe Estimator plays a key role throughout the lifecycle of a construction project, from estimating and bidding through project execution and completion.
