Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

The Construction Junior Estimator is responsible for preparing preliminary budgets, milestone cost estimates, and final bid proposals for various types of commercial & multifamily construction projects in San Diego. They will build effective relationships with team members, internal and external customers, suppliers, and subcontractors; oversee project teams; and participate in business development and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Solicit and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients
• Prepare and submit proposals within timeframes and follow up until closed
• Facilitate an effective hand‑off to the project manager
• Monitor budgets throughout the construction process
• Evaluate and prepare pricing for change orders
• Update & maintain accurate pipeline reports, track leads, bookings, forecasting, and reporting
• Build out a small department of other estimating professionals
• Handle some project‑management duties as needed
• Lead from the front
• Utilize technology to achieve effective project and cost delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields preferred but not required
• 2‑3 years experience with projects with a budget of $5M+
• Excellent track record as an estimator
• Desire to progress into a senior leadership role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software such as timberline
• Team player who works well with various individuals from project start to finish
