The Bowers Group, a Legence company, is seeking an Estimator to support preconstruction and estimating activities for mechanical and plumbing construction projects. This onsite Beltsville, MD role offers 7am–5pm hours and a competitive hourly rate with bonus potential.

Ideal for an early career estimator, you will work with senior estimators, project managers, and operations teams to grow technical skills, learn company procedures, and contribute to bid preparation and cost data management.

Formación

• 1+ year of experience in construction estimating or a related role (mechanical or plumbing preferred)
• Proficiency or working knowledge of Quote Express, AutoBid/AutoBid Pro, and MS Office Suite
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and MEP specifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• U.S. work authorization required, no visa sponsorship available
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional customer service mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Field experience in mechanical or plumbing construction preferred
• Interest in long term growth within estimating or preconstruction preferred

Responsabilidades

• Enter and manage estimate data using Quote Express, AutoBid/AutoBid Pro, and Excel
• Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Support bid preparation, documentation, and proposal submissions
• Maintain organized estimating files and cost data
• Participate in internal estimate reviews and project handoff meetings
• Learn and apply company estimating procedures, standards, and best practice

Job Summary:

The Bowers Group, a Legence company, is seeking a motivated Estimator to support preconstruction and estimating activities for mechanical and plumbing construction projects. This position is ideal for an early career professional looking to grow technical estimating skills while working closely with senior estimators, project managers, and operations teams.

This position works onsite daily in Beltsville, MD and may be union or non union.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing estimates for mechanical and/or plumbing construction projects


• Perform quantity takeoffs using drawings, MEP specifications, and bid documents


• Enter and manage estimate data using Quote Express, AutoBid/AutoBid Pro, and Excel


• Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations


• Support bid preparation, documentation, and proposal submissions

Additional Information:

• Onsite position based in Beltsville, MD.


• Typical work hours for this role are 7am – 5pm.


• Hourly rate: $38.50 - $57.00. This role is also eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.


• There is no visa sponsorship available for this position.
