  • Source and engage subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Lead the transition of awarded projects to Operations.

Job description

The Estimator plays a critical role in driving project success from concept to completion. Working closely with the Lead Estimator, this position is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and strategic project estimates. From initial assignment through project award and handoff to Operations, the Estimator is deeply involved in every phase of the preconstruction process and remains a trusted resource throughout the lifecycle of the project.

This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to develop accurate and detailed project estimates
  • Review, analyze, and interpret project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to fully understand scope, risks, and opportunities
  • Perform precise quantity takeoffs and identify all required work activities
  • Prepare comprehensive estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and timelines to support planning and execution
  • Source and engage subcontractors and material suppliers
  • Develop estimates using HCSS HeavyBid software
  • Track, evaluate, and pursue new project opportunities
  • Lead the transition of awarded projects from Estimating to Operations to ensure a seamless handoff
  • Support the Operations team by providing clarification and pricing for change orders as needed
  • Contribute innovative and value‑driven ideas to improve project outcomes and competitiveness
