Job summary

The role involves self-perform and subcontractor work, attendance at pre-bid meetings, and occasional site travel. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's or technical degree, 3–5+ years in commercial construction estimating, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree.
• 3 to 5+ years in commercial construction and estimating experience.
• Experience in building envelope repairs.
• Field experience recommended.
• Competent in reading, understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Able to manage multiple projects at one time.
• Self-directed with a high level of initiative.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Committed to delivering outstanding customer service and quality work.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates from conceptual to detailed; quantify take-offs.
• Attend pre-bid jobsite meetings and prepare preliminary schedules, RFIs, RFQs, and other project documents.
• Provide project management support to Operations and attend trade shows and sales events.
• Take ownership of projects and mentor others; implement innovative ideas.
• Drive to project sites with company vehicles as needed.

Saarman Construction, Ltd. is seeking an experienced construction Estimator to join our team. Estimators prepare estimates ranging from conceptual to detailed estimating. Looking for experience with self-perform work as well as subcontractor work. They attend pre-bid jobsite meetings, prepare preliminary construction schedules, RFIs, RFQs, and other project documents. Estimators perform quantity take-off and develop estimates. They provide project management support to the Operations team and attend trade shows and other sales events. They take ownership of their projects, implement innovative ideas, and are accountable for themselves and their projects. They must demonstrate a mastery of construction knowledge and provide mentorship to those around them. Must have clean driving record and can drive shared company vehicles to project site.

The Qualifications
