Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc is seeking an Estimating Trainer to lead the division’s estimating program, providing technical and administrative direction to meet corporate objectives. This role supports Executives, Business Development, and Project Management in selecting bid opportunities and refining strategies.

You’ll manage department functions, implement estimating procedures, review final packages for accuracy, and contribute to cost studies and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a business-related field and minimum 10 years of estimating experience in facility construction.
• Advanced management or technical training preferred; strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in using computer estimating systems and corporate procedures with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise the division’s estimating program and provide technical/administrative direction.
• Manage department functions including budgets, staffing, wage reviews, work assignments, and bid archives.
• Implement and maintain corporate estimating procedures and systems.
• Assist executives, business development, and project management with bid selection and strategy.
• Review final estimate packages for accuracy and completeness; prepare scope letters for bids.
• Participate in presentations to management and clients; may assist in contract negotiations and cost estimates.

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY: The Estimating Trainer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the division’s estimating program providing technical and administrative direction to ensure corporate objectives are met.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Manage and administer department functions including operating budgets, staffing, wage reviews, work assignments, performance evaluations, bid results and archives, etc.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining corporate estimating procedures utilizing the corporate computer estimating system and database.
• Assist Executives, Business Development, and Project Management to determine what types of projects to bid on, strategies, techniques, etc.
• Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation Review scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
• Participate in presentations to corporate management and Clients.
• May be responsible for closing the \"sale\".
• Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders,etc.as required.
• May assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Advanced management or technical training preferred
• Organizational, supervisory, and decision-making/problem-solving skills essential
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook,Word,Excel,etc)
• Familiar with modern computer estimating sysytems
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and change priorities as necessary
• Ability to work under time pressure, continual deadlines and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
• Effective oral an written communication skills as required for the position
• Self-motivated and can work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a business-related field Minimum10years of experience in similar facility construction estimating and related functions plus a thorough knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts required Can be a combination of education and technical/fieldt raining such as Engineering, Estimating experience.

TRAVEL:

Up to 10% or as required

WORKING CONDITIONS:

General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite. We fully comply with the ADA and applicable state law, including considering reasonable accommodation measures that may enable qualified disabled applicants and employees to perform essential functions. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
