Job summary

Blattner is seeking an Estimator Support professional in Avon, Minnesota. This role assists the Estimating department with quotes, bid planning, reporting, and administrative tasks across projects.

You will solicit subcontractor and supplier quotes, manage bid documents, and support pre-bid activities. Experience in construction estimating and strong office skills are valued, with on-site work in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Two-year post high school degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years related office experience.
• Prior estimating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Solicits quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers by preparing RFPs, calls, emails and ads using SmartBid.
• Downloads owner-provided RFP documents and distributes plan documents.
• Assists bid teams with pre-bid planning, meetings, and bid file setup.
• Creates bids using HCSS and Excel and imports/enters data as needed.
• Maintains bid calendar and shares with project managers and estimators.
• Popsulates new bid opportunities and tracks information in Salesforce.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Assists the Estimating department with clients, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal requests regarding quotes, bid planning, reporting, and administrative assignments.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

• Solicits quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers by preparing the following: request for proposals (RFPs), making phone calls, e-mailing and advertising utilizing SmartBid software. Returns calls from the subs/suppliers to answer questions or bid results.


• Downloads owner received RFP documents and monitors additional information uploaded by owner. Copies and distributes plan documents.


• Assists bid teams with planning and scheduling pre-bid meetings, bid planning, and bid file set-up and completion.


• Creates bids using HCSS and Excel software programs. (Enters all necessary information into the software by importing, typing, or downloading information.)


• Maintains bid calendar and distributes to project managers, estimators, etc.


• Populates new bid opportunities and incorporates materials within Salesforce.

What You’ll Need

• Computer and office skills normally acquired through the completion of two-year post high school degree and/or on-the-job experience.


• Minimum 2 years related office experience.

$20.97 - $28.82 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
