Job summary

VERUS AEROSPACE FINANCE INC in Torrance, CA is seeking a cost estimator and proposals specialist to develop, plan and schedule proposals in response to RFPs. You will compile cost, schedule, and technical elements from multiple departments to support pricing activities.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED (college degree preferred) and 2+ years’ experience. Proficiency with Enovia, 3D PDF, and MS Excel is desirable; aerospace fabrication knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aerospace aluminum sheet-metal fabrication, titanium forming, assembly structures and BOMs.
• Ability to read and interpret customer specs, drawings, 3D models, and GD&T requirements.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $110,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

Develops, plans and schedules proposals. Compiles cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications. Coordinates the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from functional departments. Research and analyzes historical data, develops cost models to support proposal efforts. Coordinates activities and participates in fact-finding meetings. Participate in should-cost and pricing reviews with management and customer representatives. Participates as a member of the contract negotiating team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.
• Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
• Estimates labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal of data submitted by prospective customers.
• Analyze specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data.
• Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
• Other various duties as needed or as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Computer Skills

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to):
  • Understanding of Enovia, 3D PDF, and other software used to view engineering models.
  • Microsoft Office proficient with MS Excel focus.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
