American Window Film is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead and grow our estimating department. This is a leadership role for a proven estimating professional who thrives in both a hands‑on capacity and a managerial one. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in commercial window tinting — including film specifications, labor production rates, glazing systems, and project complexity — and is equally comfortable running complex bids as they are coaching and developing a team of estimators.
A key component of this role is leading our team's adoption of AI‑assisted estimating tools. You will help define how we use technology to improve bid accuracy, speed, and win rate. Extensive use, proficiency and understanding of general AI systems is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee, mentor, and develop a team of commercial estimators
- Set department standards for estimating accuracy, bid quality, and turnaround time
- Conduct regular bid reviews and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Recruit, onboard, and train new estimating staff as the team scales
- Report estimating performance, pipeline, and win/loss metrics to executive leadership
- Personally estimate large, complex, or high‑priority commercial window tinting projects
- Perform detailed takeoffs from architectural drawings, specs, and site surveys
- Develop accurate labor, material, and subcontractor cost models
- Assess risk, scope gaps, and bid strategy on competitive projects
- Collaborate with project management and operations during handoff of awarded projects
AI Tools & Technology
- Lead the team's use of AI‑assisted estimating software and digital takeoff tools
- Evaluate, implement, and continuously improve technology workflows across the department
- Ensure all estimators are trained and proficient in current and emerging estimating platforms
- Use data and AI outputs to refine cost databases, production rates, and bid templates
Qualifications
- Extensive use, proficiency and understanding of general AI systems
- 15+ years of commercial estimating experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Deep knowledge of window film, architectural glazing, or specialty commercial glass installations
- Proven ability to estimate projects ranging from $50K to $5M+
- Experience managing and mentoring a team of estimators
- Proficiency in digital takeoff and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)
- Strong understanding of commercial construction documents, specs, and bid processes
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI‑assisted estimating tools or willingness to champion adoption
- Background in specialty subcontracting or glazing trades
- Familiarity with LEED, energy code requirements, and film performance specs

PAY RANGE: $110,000 - $130,000/year + 20% bonus tied to company GP vs. BUD
