Waterstone Human Capital is recruiting on behalf of a growing MEP contractor in the Southeast for a brand-new Estimating Manager role in Greenville, SC.

You will lead and grow the estimating team across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and piping, estimating directly from plans while building the systems and mentorship needed to scale.

Relocation assistance is available, with a choice of company vehicle or a vehicle allowance plus gas card; reports to Executive Leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on mechanical estimating background.
• Experience reading HVAC, plumbing drawings and codes.
• Proficient with takeoff software such as Bluebeam or OST.
• Leadership experience building and mentoring a small team.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Personally estimate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and piping projects.

Location: Upstate South Carolina (Greenville area), on-site

Reports to: Executive Leadership

Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 + Bonus

Our client is a growing, well-established MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing & piping) contractor serving commercial and industrial projects across the Southeast, and they are creating a brand-new leadership role to bring structure and mentorship to an estimating team that has largely grown up through the ranks.

Your Role:

As Estimating Manager, you will lead and grow the estimating function across all four disciplines: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and piping. You will roll up your sleeves and estimate directly out of the gate while building the systems, mentorship, and management structure this department needs to scale.

What You'll Do:

• Oversee and mentor a growing estimating team, starting at two and scaling toward four
• Personally estimate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and piping projects
• Bring high-level management structure and best practices to a fast-growing department
• Partner closely with sales and executive leadership on bid strategy and pricing
• Help build the processes and team this company needs for its next phase of growth

What You'll Bring:

• Strong, hands-on mechanical estimating background, comfortable taking a project from plans to a complete, defensible bid
• Skilled at reading and quantifying mechanical drawings and specs (HVAC, piping, plumbing) and producing accurate material and labor takeoffs
• Working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes, equipment, and installation methods well enough to catch scope gaps before a bid goes out
• Experience with estimating and takeoff software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar
• Proven experience managing, developing, and mentoring a small team, with the instincts to grow it thoughtfully as headcount scales
• Broader exposure to electrical and/or piping estimating is a plus
• No specific degree required, real-world estimating and leadership experience matters most
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person and be able to work without visa sponsorship
