Job summary

Exyte is seeking a Manager Estimating to lead the development and coordination of conceptual and detailed estimates for complex industrial projects in the Dallas area.

You will supervise estimating and bidding activities, prepare cost models, manage risk analysis, and present estimates to executives, clients, and partners. Strong EPCC project experience and proficient with WinEst/Accubid/Bluebeam are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 10+ years of experience in commercial/industrial construction estimating.
• 7+ years of competitive bid experience.
• Experience with commercial estimating and EPCC projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assure quality and timeliness of estimating and bidding activities.
• Lead proposal preparation, presentation, and securing new work.
• Develop estimate plan and schedule; coordinate with project/capture teams.
• Prepare Work Package Estimate breakdowns with project/proposal teams.
• Lead development of total project estimates (conceptual and detailed).
• Prepare the Project Basis of Estimate and Estimate Risk Analysis.

Job description

The Manager Estimating is responsible for the management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of conceptual and detailed estimates for various complex projects. Directs the quantitative development of material, labor, and subcontract take-offs, as well as the coordination of information among Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and project teams. Presents completed estimates to Exyte Management, JV partners and clients for review.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assures the quality and timeliness of all estimating and bidding activities
• Assists and/or leads proposal preparation, presentation and securing new work
• Develops the estimate plan and schedule and coordinates estimate development with the project/capture team
• Prepares Work Package Estimate breakdowns in conjunction with the project/proposal team
• Leads the development of the total project estimate; detailed and/or conceptual
• Prepares the total Project Basis of Estimate
• Prepares the Estimate Risk Analysis and makes cost contingency recommendations
• Analyzes and makes independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Supports preparation and Presentation of Project Estimates to Executive and Client management Teams
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required
• 10+ years of experience in the commercial/industrial construction industries
• 7+ years of competitive bid experience preferred
• Experience in commercial estimating
• Experience with the following software applications preferred: Trimble WinEst and Accubid, Bluebeam and Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, etc)

Preferred

• Experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning (EPCC) projects is required
• Experience in Commercial building, Bio Life Sciences construction desired data centers and Semiconductors a plus
• Ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information
• Understands the fundamental concepts of engineering drawings
• Ability to effectively perform material take-offs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to travel to support both project and corporate needs
