Job summary

BMA Group Panama is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead the cost estimation function across diverse construction projects. You will leverage data analytics, industry knowledge, and leadership to deliver accurate budgets and proposals.

You will collaborate with project teams, manage a forecasting-driven estimating process, and mentor staff while promoting best practices and inclusion within procurement and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in construction estimating with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Proficient in modern estimating software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical skills in data modeling, cost analysis and forecasting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and standards.
• Certifications such as CPE are a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and oversee comprehensive cost estimates for various construction projects.
• Utilize data analytics to evaluate trends, cost patterns, and forecasting methods to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between budget estimates and project requirements.
• Lead the preparation and presentation of estimate reviews to senior management and clients, providing clear and concise analysis.
• Continuously improve the estimating processes by leveraging best practices, modern tools, and emerging technologies.
• Manage and mentor the estimating team to enhance their professional growth and technical skills.
• Coordinate vendor and subcontractor bid negotiations and ensure competitive pricing is achieved.
• Monitor budget performance during and post-project to refine and update future cost models.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all estimating activities.
• Act as a thought leader within the organization, promoting initiatives to drive diversity, equality, and inclusion in procurement and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proficient in modern estimating software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data modeling, cost analysis, and trend forecasting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and embracing diverse perspectives to achieve creative solutions.
• Certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar are a plus.

Day-to-Day

• Lead and guide the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost proposals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure project goals are met.
