Job summary

Consigli Construction is seeking an Estimating Intern to support the estimating team in Milford, MA. The role focuses on quantity take-offs, subcontractor coordination, product research, and documentation management within a hands‑on cost estimation environment.

The intern will assist with cost comparisons, bid preparation, and data maintenance while interacting with engineers, architects and suppliers. This in‑person, 40-hour weekly internship offers practical exposure to preconstruction

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in CM/CE or related field.
• Foundational understanding of construction processes, materials, systems and terminology.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and technical docs.
• Proficient in Excel for cost tracking and analysis.
• Familiarity with estimating tools (Bluebeam/OST) is a plus.
• Experience organizing bid docs and cost databases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity take-offs, unit pricing and cost comparisons; document assumptions and qualifications.
• Manage subcontractor lists and contacts; research products and maintain estimating databases.
• Conduct site visits to collect data and analyze historical cost data to support bids.
• Prepare and reconcile cost estimates; monitor actual vs estimated expenditures.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, subcontractors and internal teams through the estimating process.
• Support bid development with expenditure statements and tender documentation.
• Participate in estimate reviews and value‑engineering sessions.
• Update estimating databases and project files to ensure smooth workflows.
