Job summary

CM&B is seeking an Estimating Intern (Co-op) to join our Estimating and Preconstruction team in Beverly, MA. This role offers hands-on exposure to the earliest stages of construction, where projects move from concept to reality.

You will review plans and specifications, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, and support the development of competitive project proposals while learning cost estimating techniques and bid documentation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• Strong interest in construction estimating, preconstruction, and project planning.
• Excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the estimating team with bidding and preconstruction activities.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project requirements.
• Help identify subcontractor and material supplier scopes of work.
• Distribute bidding documents and communicate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Support the quantity takeoff process.
• Assist with maintaining estimating databases and project information.
• Track bid schedules and estimating deadlines.
• Help manage requests for information (RFIs) during the bidding process.
• Build professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
• Support additional estimating and preconstruction tasks as assigned.
