Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist estimators in preparing construction project bids and budgets.
• Perform basic plan reading and quantity takeoffs.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes and historical cost data.
• Contribute to project budget and cost tracking.
• Attend prebid and owner's meetings; participate in project bid reviews.
• Complete site visits as needed to support estimates.

Employee will assist with construction estimates and budgets for heavy civil and highway projects. This position is typically sitting at our main office in Jacksonville, FL.

Required Education And Experience

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) before participation in the internship program.

Preferred Education

• Knowledge of general construction practices.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Excel.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation to and from the main office.
