Job summary

MetalTek International is seeking an Estimating Engineer to develop accurate cost and lead-time estimates for custom castings, supporting quotes and production planning. You will review drawings, specifications, and requirements, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

The role emphasizes cost analysis across material, labor, casting, heat treating, machining, quality, and outside processing, identifying risks and special processes to ensure competitive bids and on-time

Qualifications

• Degree in business, engineering, materials technology, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• Experience in metals manufacturing, foundry, machining, fabrication, or technical manufacturing preferred.
• Prior estimating experience in a foundry, machining, or metals manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Defense Contracting and Project Management for Dept of War.
• Develop accurate cost and lead-time estimates for custom castings.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Estimate material, labor, casting, heat treating, machining, quality, inspection, and outside processing costs.
• Partner with sales, engineering, metallurgy, manufacturing, quality, and operations to support quotes.
• Identify risks, assumptions, special processes, and manufacturability considerations during quoting.
