Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 6–10 years of progressive estimating experience in fabrication/manufacturing.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes, cost estimating, and production planning.
• Experience interpreting drawings, specs, and project scope documents.
• Leads and directs others with strong judgment and decision-making.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements estimating policies and best practices for fabrication operations.
• Prepares detailed cost estimates for shop-fabricated products and structural steel.
• Reviews drawings and BOMs to determine labor, material, and subcontractor costs.
• Evaluates production schedules and shop capabilities for accurate labor projections.
• Collaborates with engineering, procurement, and operations on proposals.
• Analyzes vendor quotes and ensures alignment with market conditions.
• Monitors costs vs. actuals and improves estimating accuracy.
• Identifies cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering ideas.
• Leads estimating staff and supports bid reviews and handoffs.
