Job summary

Alcrete in North Carolina is seeking an Estimating & Design Engineer to actively participate in precast projects from initial takeoffs and estimates through final design and handoff to project management.

You will interpret blueprints, develop solutions, create production drawings, and support customers with design questions and change orders, collaborating with the Sales Engineering and PM teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or related field or equivalent experience.
• Construction/materials industry experience is preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D and Titan ERP; MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete project takeoffs and estimates with Sales Engineering input.
• Interpret blueprints to derive project requirements and solutions.
• Prepare production drawings for the production team.
• Hand off project to the PM team for delivery.
• Assist customers with design questions, changes and change orders.

This position supports a project from estimate through submission and hand off to the project management team.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Complete project takeoff and estimates with information provided by the Sales Engineering team.
• Interpret blueprints to understand and implement project requirements and develop project solutions accurately.
• Complete project drawings for submission and use by the production team to ensure high quality products and solutions for our customers.
• Turn over project to PM team for production and delivery to customer.
• Provide support to customers for project design questions, changes and any related change orders.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, constructions, civil or related degree or equivalent.
• Industry experience within construction and/or construction materials.
• Excellent work ethic with a positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment of teamwork and constant change.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and/or 3D.
• 2+ years of experience reading plans (civil, architectural, structural, or electrical).
• Experience working in a similar office environment (engineering, architectural, manufacturing, or construction).
• Titan ERP software experience is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
