Job summary

Advantage Flooring Services in Central Ohio is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to produce accurate, competitive bids for commercial flooring projects, including carpet tile, ceramic, and resilient flooring.

You will review drawings and specs, perform quantity takeoffs, source pricing, build bid packages, and coordinate with project managers and vendors throughout the bidding process. This role offers growth with a local contractor.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial flooring or Division 9 estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.
• Knowledge of commercial flooring products, installation methods, and industry standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial flooring projects (carpet tile, broadloom, ceramic/porcelain, LVT/VCT, sheet vinyl, base, and related sundries).
• Review drawings, specifications, and addenda; perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis.
• Source material pricing from vendors and apply current labor rates, equipment, and delivery costs.
• Build complete bid packages, including labor, material, freight, use tax, and other project costs.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and general contractors during the bidding process.
• Maintain and update estimate templates, material databases, and pricing information.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and jobsite walks as needed.
• Support value engineering and alternate pricing when requested.
• Track bid results and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating accuracy.

We specialize in carpet, ceramic tile, resilient flooring, vinyl base, and related Division 9 work for commercial projects. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Estimator who can produce accurate, competitive bids and support our project teams.

• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites within Central Ohio.
• Strong communication skills for vendor and customer interaction.

Preferred

• Experience with commercial flooring manufacturers (Shaw, Mohawk, Interface, Mannington, Johnsonite, Mapei, Ardex, etc.).
• Familiarity with Ohio building codes, prevailing wage, and tax-exempt project requirements.
• Background in project management or field installation.
