Job summary

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College seeks an Esthetics Instructor (VLD) to teach afternoon and evening classes. Under supervision, you will deliver instruction, demonstrate safety and sanitation, manage inventory and course records, and uphold the approved syllabus.

The candidate must hold a Georgia Esthetics license or Master Cosmetologist license with relevant experience, showing strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. This is a full-time role with state benefits and potential for growth.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Under general supervision, will provide instruction to students in afternoon and evening Esthetics courses. Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques. Demonstrates ability to order products and maintain appropriate inventory. Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge of current safety/sanitation procedures in the field. Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required. Follow approved course syllabus. Completes all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties. The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Summary of Working Conditions
  • Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, Various types of advanced in-field equipment as required by academic program and accreditation standards
  • Working Conditions: Category II - Limited probability of exposure to hazardous chemicals/pathogens. Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Travel rarely required.
Minimum Qualifications

Current unencumbered Esthetics License in the State of Georgia or Master Cosmetologist License in the State of Georgia with at least three (3) years of experience in field.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or more of the following: Esthetics License in the State of Georgia with at least four (4) years or more of experience infield.

Salary/Benefits
  • Salary is $55,000/yr. This position is full‑time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave accrual, options for health & other supplemental benefits, and retirement. This position may qualify the successful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This position is funded in whole or in part by State/Local/Tuition funds.
Background Investigations

Pursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history records check and employment history reference checks will be performed for all candidates offered employment. Other checks such as Motor Vehicle Records may be conducted for any candidate receiving an offer, as well as internal candidates prior to being promoted or transferred into a position with the college.
