Job summary

StrategicIntent

The Esthetician will deliver exceptionalservice in the execution of treatments. S/he will perform the spas treatmentsin line with the flow charts, and ensure that all guests are recommended homecare solutions.

Organizational Structure

The Esthetician will report to the Spa and Wellness Manager. S/he will be technically supervised by the Lead Esthetician asrequired.

Commission- 31%

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Performsmassage and spa treatment services according to protocol as outlined above
• Effectivelycommunicate the spa’s health and wellness philosophy to guests.
• Exhibitproper use of product and abide by all product control guidelines.
• Read andadhere to schedule postings in regards to shifts, room assignments and thecomputer scheduling system.
• Provide clear and appropriate directions to guests for overall safety.
• Meets orexceeds the retail goals of the massage therapist’s monthly targets orindividual sales goals.
• Completionof daily checklists as assigned by department.
• Attend andparticipate in regularly scheduled training sessions and meetings.
• Adheres toall standard operating procedures, protocols and techniques specified byArgentta and all treatments given, reflect service protocols.
• Displayappropriate teamwork, flexibility and interpersonal skills.
• Responsiblefor providing a safe, clean, personal, entertaining and well thought outsession that exceeds guest’s expectations.
• Ensureproper use tools and equipment and informs General Manager/Supervisor of anypotential safety issues.
• Ensure gratuities are not solicited.
• MassageTherapist is empowered to determine when to terminate a massage in the event itbecomes unprofessional and/or uncomfortable for either party.
• Promote thespa and all services, products and programs.
• Ensure thatindividual retails sales goals are met.
• Responsiblefor providing a safe, clean, personal and attentive treatment that exceedsguest’s expectations.
• Educatesguests on all products being used in treatment and make recommendations asappropriate regarding product to support an at home skin care regime.

Experience and Requirements

• Must posse a minimum of 2 years’ experiencein a spa environment; those with hotel/resort five star experience will befavored.
• Exercises dependability and willingness to work with schedule flexibility.
• Participates in continuing education and maintains CEUs and license as mandated by the District of Columbia.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal andexternal guests.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe anddetect sign of emergency situations.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule toaccommodate all business goals and directives. This position will (at times)require early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication and presentationskills required; must be fluent in English (those with multi-lingual abilitieswill be preferred).
