Job summary

Armstrong Teasdale LLP seeks a lateral Trusts & Estates Associate in our St. Louis office to join the Corporate Services Group. The role offers exposure to sophisticated estate planning and administration matters and collaboration with experienced lawyers.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years’ experience in complex estate, tax, and wealth planning, a JD, and eligibility to practice law. A tax-focused LLM is a plus; strong communication and client service skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor is required and must be in good standing to practice law.
  • LLM in Taxation is a plus for the role.
  • 3+ years’ experience in complex estate, tax and wealth planning matters, including drafting and implementing estate planning documents.

Responsibilities

  • Simultaneously handles the high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages from inception to conclusion.
  • Communicates effectively with attorneys and clients, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Works independently and shows a strong interest in advancing a career in estate planning and administration.
  • Produces high-quality legal work and bills the required hours to ensure excellent client services.
  • Demonstrates some success in business management and/or business generation through individual or group efforts.
  • Complies with the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.
