Job summary

Lewis Cellars in Napa is seeking Estate Support Staff to warmly welcome guests, manage water service, clear and reset tables, and ensure smooth service in a luxury tasting room. This role offers both part-time and full-time schedules with weekend and holiday shifts required; no prior wine knowledge is necessary, but a strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Pay ranges from $21.00 to $24.00 per hour and is included in a tip pool.

Qualifications

  • Previous tasting room or restaurant experience preferred.
  • RBS and Food Handler certifications required or willing to obtain.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • English literacy required; ability to communicate with guests.
  • Dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized; attention to hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and provide water service.
  • Clear tables, transport ware to the kitchen, and reset tables.
  • Promptly clean tabletops, chairs, and banquettes between seatings.
  • Restock wine, merchandise, and collateral materials.
  • Assist with pre- and post-shift setup and cleanup.
  • Inspect restrooms every 30 minutes and restock.

In the Estate Support Staff position, you will be responsible for warmly welcoming guests with water service, clearing empty plates, replenishing table supplies, ensuring timely plate delivery, and accommodating special requests—all to create a seamless and memorable experience. This is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a luxury tasting room with opportunities to expand your wine knowledge and service with our Lewis Team. This role is vital to our service standards and success.

This position can accommodate either a part-time or full-time schedule, depending on the candidate’s availability and scheduling needs. Weekend (Friday - Sunday) and holiday availability, as well as flexibility to work evening shifts as needed required.

Job Description
  • Clear tables after guests leave, transporting glassware and tableware to the kitchen, and placing silverware, dishes, and glassware in designated areas for washing
  • Promptly clean tabletops, chairs, and banquettes between seatings
  • Reset and arrange tabletops; check and clean floors as needed
  • Inspect restrooms every 30 minutes, cleaning and restocking as necessary
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate them to servers or a manager immediately
  • Restock wine, merchandise, and collateral materials as needed
  • Assist with pre- and post-shift setup and cleanup
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a tasting room or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
  • RBS and Food Handler Certifications required, or must be willing to complete certifications independently and at personal cost shortly upon hire
  • Possesses a flexible schedule and able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfort working in varying environments, including vineyards, cellars, and event spaces
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Strong interest in customer service and an appreciation for wine
  • Attention to detail to ensure dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
    • Previous dishwashing experience preferred, but not required
  • Has a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;ability to manage priorities and tasks
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Uses good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a plus

Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.00 an hour, and will be included in the tip pool.Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
