Job summary

McIntyre Elder Law in North Carolina seeks a Probate Paralegal to support estate planning, probate, guardianship, and related matters. The role emphasizes accuracy, client communication, and collaboration with attorneys to protect clients’ interests.

The position is full-time, with in-person work in an office setting. A paralegal certificate or degree is preferred, and salary ranges from $55,000 to $65,000 per year, DOE.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of professional experience in accounting, financial services, bookkeeping, estate administration, guardianship administration or trust administration.
• Experience supporting attorneys and coordinating with clients and advisors is preferred.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estate, guardianship, and trust accountings.
• E-file and file documents with the Clerk of Court.
• Familiarity with financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and tax filings.
• Work with clients, their advisors, and internal team to ensure accurate matter management.
• Know NC local and state court rules and maintain confidentiality of client information.
• Track billable and non-billable hours and assist with billing tasks.
• Draft and file legal documents and organize case files.
• Utilize document management systems to store/retrieve documents.
