Gembala, McLaughlin & Pecora Co., LPA is seeking an Associate Attorney for the Estate Planning, Probate & Transactional department to work with attorneys, paralegals, and staff. The role emphasizes collaboration with litigation and domestic relations, leadership involvement, and marketing initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of estate planning and probate experience, plus strong drafting skills for wills and trusts, and solid real estate transaction experience.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• 3–5 years of estate planning and probate administration; some transactional experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization, time management and project management skills.
• Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, along with ability to work independently on various projects

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and reciprocate with the litigation and domestic relations departments.
• Become an active part of leadership within the firm.
• Participate in marketing strategies and efforts.
• A book of portable business is a plus.
• Draft wills, trusts (revocable, irrevocable, special needs), powers of attorney and advance directives.
• Handle commercial and residential real estate transactions, including purchase agreements, land installment contracts, leases, deeds and easements.
• Handle probate and trust administration issues.
• Independently manage assigned cases and docket.
• Work effectively with other firm attorneys and professional staff.
• Provide timely and professional communications to clients.
• Effectively pursue business development initiatives and client relationships

The Role

Associate Attorney for the Estate Planning, Probate & Transactional department which includes other attorneys, paralegals, and secretarial staff.

• Collaborate and reciprocate with the litigation and domestic relations departments.
• Become an active part of leadership within the firm.
• Participate in marketing strategies and efforts.
• A book of portable business is a plus.
• The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
• Experience in drafting wills, trusts (revocable, irrevocable, special needs), powers of attorney and advanced directives.
• Understand the tax consequences of various planning choices.
• Handle commercial and residential real estate transactions, including purchase agreements, land installment contracts, leases, deeds and easements.
• Handle probate and trust administration issues.
• Independently manage assigned cases and docket.
• Work effectively with other firm attorneys and professional staff.
• Provide timely and professional communications to clients.

Requirements
