Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Draft and review estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives)
- Manage estate administration cases from start to finish, including probate filings
- Advise and represent clients in elder law matters, including long-term care and Medical Assistance planning
- Support clients with guardianship and special needs planning matters
- Conduct occasional in-person client meetings at the Baltimore office
- Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and third parties (e.g., courts, agencies)
- Maintain timely and thorough case documentation
Qualifications Needed
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in Maryland
- Minimum 2–3 years of estate planning, elder law, and/or estate administration experience preferred
- Strong background in real estate transactions, public contracting, and contract negotiations a plus (if applicable, otherwise omit)
- Experience or strong background in assisting seniors, individuals with disabilities, and Medical Assistance planning
- Proven ability to independently manage client matters with compassion and professionalism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
