Job summary

Confidential Employer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking an attorney to build a meaningful estate planning practice by meeting clients in person and guiding them through wills, trusts, and probate. You will join an established team with experience in estate planning, elder law, and asset protection, with a clear path from base salary toward revenue sharing as you grow a book of business.

To qualify, Iowa licensure and 2+ years of trusts/estates experience are required; real estate or elder law

Qualifications

• 2+ years of directly relevant trusts and estates or estate planning experience.
• Experience with wills, trusts, probate, trust administration, estate planning, or related matters.
• Strong client communication, counseling, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable meeting prospective clients in person and taking ownership of matters.
• Real estate and/or elder law experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with prospective and existing clients to understand goals, assets and family circumstances.
• Develop and implement thoughtful estate planning strategies tailored to client needs.
• Prepare and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, and other documents.
• Advise clients on probate, trust administration, asset protection, and related matters.
• Build long-term relationships with clients and become a trusted advisor.
• Educate prospective clients and guide them through the estate planning process.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver an organized, high-quality client experience.
• Grow your own client base and practice through referrals and business development.
