Job summary

Durfee Law Group in Arizona is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to manage a full caseload from consultation to execution, delivering high-touch service to individuals and families planning for their futures.

You will draft customized estate plans, coordinate with probate, trust administration, and tax teams, and guide clients through updates as circumstances change, all while maintaining meticulous records and a client-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and an active license to practice law in Arizona, or eligibility for prompt admission.
• At least three years of legal experience — any practice area, any title.
• Meaningful experience in estate planning, with working knowledge of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
• Working knowledge of Arizona estate planning law and related tax and property considerations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with patience and empathy to guide clients.
• Strong organizational instincts and close attention to detail, particularly around document accuracy and deadlines.
• Familiarity with PracticePanther and HotDocs is a plus.
• A collaborative, team-first mindset and a high degree of personal accountability.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of estate planning matters, including wills, powers of attorney, advanced healthcare directives, and revocable and irrevocable trusts from initial consultation through final execution.
• Design and draft customized estate plans based on each client's family structure, assets, and goals, rather than defaulting to one-size-fits-all templates.
• Manage a steady, high-volume flow of simple trusts, balanced with occasional complex, multi-generational dynasty trust work.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process, providing clear, compassionate, and responsive communication at every stage.
• Spot tax considerations, asset protection issues, and family dynamics that may affect a client's planning decisions, and anticipate complications before they become problems.
• Coordinate closely with the firm's trust administration, probate, tax, and paralegal teams so clients experience one seamless relationship with the firm, not a series of handoffs.
• Guide clients through plan updates and revisions as their lives and circumstances change over time.
• Maintain meticulous case files and calendaring so that document deadlines, signing appointments, and client commitments are never at risk.
• Uphold the firm's white glove standard: prompt follow-up, plain-language explanations, and a client experience that feels personal rather than transactional.

Position Summary

We are looking for an Estate Planning Attorney who combines strong technical command of Arizona estate planning law with genuine warmth and a high-touch approach to client care. This role manages a full caseload of estate planning matters from initial consultation through document execution, and serves as a steady, trusted advisor for individuals and families making decisions about their assets, their families, and their legacies. The right attorney will be as comfortable untangling a complex family or tax situation as they are sitting across the table from a client who has never thought about any of this before, and will treat both with the same level of care.

Key Responsibilities

Path to Partnership

Attorneys who thrive in this role have a clear runway for growth. After three years, attorneys become eligible to advance to Equity Equivalent Partner — receiving the compensation and title of an equity partner, without a capital buy-in.
