  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive estate plans based on clients’ objectives.
  • Draft and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other documents.
  • Advise clients regarding estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and income tax considerations.
  • Counsel high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth preservation and transfer strategies.
  • Assist business owners with succession planning and integration into broader plans.
  • Analyze existing estate plans and recommend updates based on changes in family circumstances, assets, or laws.
  • Advise fiduciaries, trustees, beneficiaries, and personal representatives on administration matters.
  • Assist with probate, trust administration, and estate settlement as needed.
  • Coordinate with accountants, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and other advisors to implement integrated strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in estate planning and related areas of law.

Position Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join its private client and estate planning practice. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience advising individuals, families, business owners, and high-net-worth clients on sophisticated estate planning, wealth transfer, and related matters.


This position offers the opportunity to work directly with clients to develop comprehensive estate plans tailored to their personal, financial, and family objectives. The attorney will collaborate with clients and other professional advisors, including financial advisors, accountants, and business professionals, to implement effective strategies for wealth preservation and transfer.


The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical legal knowledge, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and a client-focused approach to developing and maintaining long‑term relationships.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement comprehensive estate plans based on clients’ financial, family, business, and personal objectives.

  • Draft and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning documents.

  • Advise clients regarding estate, gift, generation‑skipping transfer, and income tax considerations affecting their estate plans.

  • Counsel high-net‑worth individuals and families on wealth preservation, asset protection, and multigenerational wealth transfer strategies.

  • Assist business owners with succession planning and the integration of business interests into broader estate plans.

  • Analyze existing estate plans and recommend updates based on changes in family circumstances, assets, tax laws, or client objectives.

  • Advise fiduciaries, trustees, beneficiaries, and personal representatives regarding estate and trust administration matters.

  • Assist with probate, trust administration, and estate settlement matters as needed.

  • Coordinate with accountants, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and other outside advisors to develop and implement integrated planning strategies.

  • Conduct legal research and remain current on developments in estate planning, tax, trust, probate, and related areas of law.

  • Communicate complex legal and financial concepts clearly and effectively to clients.

  • Manage multiple client matters and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Develop and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.

  • Participate in networking, community involvement, and business development activities to grow the practice.


Qualifications


  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license and good standing with the applicable state bar.

  • 5+ years of relevant estate planning and/or trust and estate experience.

  • Strong knowledge of estate planning, trusts, probate, and related tax considerations.

  • Experience drafting sophisticated estate planning documents.

  • Experience working with high‑net‑worth individuals, families, business owners, or closely held businesses preferred.

  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities.

  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear, practical manner.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound legal judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Collaborative, professional, and client‑focused approach.

Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year
