South Harrison Community School Corporation is seeking an Essential Skills Instructional Assistant for Corydon Elementary School. The role is part-time with no benefits, prorated sick days, and a starting pay of $20.62 per hour.

The work schedule is 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours per week) across 181 school days, with days following the district calendar. All employees must complete a nationwide criminal history check upon hire.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or a college degree or equivalent credentials as listed in the Indiana paraprofessional requirements.
• CDA or completion of LEA professional development modules may be accepted.
• Pass Para-Pro Assessment or equivalent qualifications as specified.

Preferred Qualifications

Based on P.L. 107-110,section 1119© (1), all paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002, shall have one of the following:

1. 1) Two years of college experience
2. 2) Two year college degree
3. 3) Passed the Para-Pro Assessment
4. 4) One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or working with children
5. 5) Passed annual school-level evaluations
6. 6) Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes
7. 7) Child Development Associate (CDA) Credentials
8. 8) Completed LEA required professional development modules/training
9. 9) Completed other requirements - LEA may request approval from IDOE
