Job summary

The City of Leander is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of city vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose and service diesel, gasoline, and two-cycle engines and transmissions, including heavy-duty trucks, and perform major and minor repairs on air conditioning systems.

Responsibilities include ordering parts, managing inventory, and responding to service calls in the field or shop while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Three years related work experience and/or technical training in diesel repair.

Responsibilities

• Maintain City vehicles and equipment in good working condition.

• Perform major and minor repairs on air conditioning systems for various trucks.
• Order parts and manage inventory as directed by Shop Foreman.
