Talent Wave Associates is seeking a technical expert to lead pre-sales activity in the energy storage space. You will support commercial teams, optimize system designs, and contribute to profitable engagements while mitigating risk.

This role covers creating cost models, developing toolsets, and negotiating technical contracts for long‑term service agreements. You will collaborate with engineering to refine specifications and deliver compelling technical presentations to clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • At least 3 years in a technical/engineering role within the BESS industry for utility-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of BESS and system design; familiar with NFPA 855, UL 9540/UL9540A.

Responsabilités

  • Provide proactive technical support to commercial and sales teams by addressing complex customer inquiries and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Develop cost models and automated toolsets to streamline the sales process and enhance pricing accuracy.
  • Create and improve technical presentations to communicate the unique value propositions of the products.
  • Define optimal system design and bill of materials, including battery technology and associated systems.
  • Generate high-value documentation such as single line diagrams, site layouts, and performance metrics.
  • Lead negotiations for technical contractual exhibits, ensuring comprehensive scope coverage and risk mitigation.
  • Manage technical contractual exhibits for Long-Term Service Agreements, ensuring clear obligations and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to maintain and negotiate product technical specifications.

About the Role

This role is a technical expert position within the energy storage team, providing critical support in client engagements and technical sales. It exists to ensure technical excellence from pre-sales activities to contract execution. The role contributes to the organization by optimizing system designs, enhancing profitability, and reducing risk while supporting the sales team with comprehensive technical contracting support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive technical support to commercial and sales teams by addressing complex customer inquiries and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Develop and implement cost models and automated toolsets to streamline the sales process and enhance pricing accuracy.
  • Create and improve technical presentations to communicate the unique value propositions of the products.
  • Define optimal system design and bill of materials, including battery technology and associated systems.
  • Generate high-value documentation such as single line diagrams, site layouts, and performance metrics.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or computer science) or a related field.
  • At least 3 years in a technical or engineering position within the BESS industry, focusing on utility-scale projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a technical and engineering capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and system design.
  • Familiarity with safety standards including NFPA 855, NFPA 68/69, UL 9540, UL9540A, and electrical safety standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of data analysis software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
