ESS Instructional Aide (2025/2026 SY) (Healthcare)

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
2025/2026 School Year
Full-Time, 9-Month Position, Non-Exempt
Reports directly to Director of ESS

SUMMARY:
The Instructional Aide assists teachers in various ways to implement the instructional program, including working directly with children in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides aid in the classroom to teachers regarding students with special needs.
  2. Helps teachers with curriculum and instruction as needed.
  3. In conjunction with the Director of ESS, Principal, and Teachers, monitors recess, arrival, and dismissal times.
  4. Assists in various other areas as deemed reasonable and appropriate by the administration.
  5. Supervises students visually and audibly during duty times, ensuring student safety.
  6. Provides supervision during nonacademic times (breaks, lunch, detention, etc.) and other assignments.
  7. Enforces rules and responds appropriately to student misconduct in a safe and respectful manner.
  8. Assists in curriculum implementation and administration of academic programs.
  9. Incorporates IEPs into the general curriculum when appropriate and participates in IEP meetings.
  10. Follows PLC Charter School policies and procedures.
  11. Completes tasks assigned by the Special Education Director, Site Director, and classroom teacher.
  12. Provides input on instructional materials and resources.
  13. Attends all mandatory meetings.
  14. Ensures compliance with Arizona State Standards.
  15. Responsible for lunch setup, dispersal, and cleanup.
  16. Coordinates with teachers for copies, supplies, and related activities.
  17. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of ESS and/or Principal.
