Job summary

Radcliff Elementary School in Radcliff, Kentucky is seeking a part-time Teacher supported by ESS funding for the end of the school year.

• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
• Assists administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct; develops rules of classroom behavior and maintains order.
• Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required.
• Continuously strives to improve professional competence and collaborates with colleagues and communities.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in duties prescribed by the principal and School Board policies.
• Promotes public relations for the school’s programs and activities.

CLASS TITLE: TEACHER

This is a part-time position; Days and Times may vary - ESS Funding - Position is for the end of school year only or once funding is exhausted.

BASIC FUNCTION: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Meets and instructsassigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program ofstudy that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests,and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroomenvironment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturityand interests of the students.
• Prepares for classesassigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony withthe goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students, as adopted by the local and state Board of Education.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, andadministrative regulation, pertaining to teacher and students.
• Assists theadministration in implementing all policies and rules governing studentlife and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
• Makes provision forbeing available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so underreasonable terms.
• Continuously strives to improve professional competence and collaboration with colleagues and communities.
• Attends staff meetings,serves on staff committees, and performs duties prescribed by theprincipal and by School Board Policies.
• Promotes public relations for the school’s programs and activities.
• Becomes acquainted with parents; reports any unusual occurrence or event to the principal or the designated representative immediately.
• Contacts the principal or the designated representative as soon as possible when the teacher mustbe absent from school.
• Remains at schoolduring the entire school day unless excused by the principal or thedesignated representative.
• Participates in the selection, adoption and inventory of textbooks.
• Implements all rules and regulations, policies and administrative guidelines as adopted by theSchool SBDM Council and the School Board for the district.
• Maintains a professional appearance as an example for students.
• The Board of Education delegates to the person holding this position the reasonable authority necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities listed for thisposition.
• Is familiar with and incorporates the use of technology in daily tasks.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Adheres to the professional code of conduct.
