Job Title: Line Cook
Location: Anchorage
Reports To: Onboard Captain, Alaska Railroad Project Operations Manager
Training Begins in April 2025
First Train Runs Early May 2025
Summary: As Line Cook, you assist in accurately and efficiently preparing meats, sandwiches, salads, soups and other food products, as well as portion food products prior to cooking. Also performs other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing of all menu items. This position works 4-5 days a week 14-16 hours a shift. Expect to make 4 to 6 hours of overtime per shift.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: AK State Food Workers Card, CPR & First Aid Certifications
Education and/or Experience: This is an entry-level position. There is no experience required. On-the-job training will be applied.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports/orders. Ability to speak effectively before customers.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; balance while train in motion; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stoop. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds up to chest level and 20 or less above chest level. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heat, motion, and cleaning chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
