Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Tier I ESS support specialist to manage access control, CCTV, and security sensor systems on the USCGA campus. You will configure cameras and door locks, maintain NVR/cloud systems, and perform system administration for security solutions.

Ideal candidates will have Public Trust clearance, hands-on experience with Software House C-CURE and Avigilon, and strong networking knowledge to support mission-critical security infrastructure across campus.

Qualifications

• Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain; clearance must be complete prior to starting employment.
• Proficiency with access control systems such as Software House (C-CURE).
• Proficiency with video management systems such as Avigilon.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, and network switch configuration.
• Experience configuring and maintaining IP cameras, card readers, door controllers, and biometric devices.
• Ability to function in office, server/equipment room, and building-access environments across the USCGA campus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, clean, rewire, calibrate, adjust, and replace components to restore operation.
• Perform system administration for access control, CCTV, network and database management systems, NVR and cloud-based systems.
• Support mission-critical physical security and IT solutions for the USCGA campus.

Support hardware, network, and application services for electronic access control, CCTV, and security sensor systems
Provide technical recommendations, testing, and evaluation for system expansion, refresh, and recapitalization activities
Perform fault analysis, testing, and repair of ESS systems and equipment
Troubleshoot, clean, rewire, calibrate, adjust, and replace components/modules to restore equipment to operational status
Perform system administration for access control, CCTV, network and database management systems, NVR and cloud-based systems, card readers, biometric scanners, and other security-controlled equipment
Support mission-critical physical security and IT solutions for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy

Requirements

• Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain; clearance must be complete prior to starting employment
• Demonstrated proficiency with access control systems such as Software House (C-CURE)
• Demonstrated proficiency with video management systems such as Avigilon
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, and network switch configuration
• Experience configuring and maintaining IP cameras, card readers, door controllers, and biometric devices
• Ability to function in office, server/equipment room, and building-access environments across the USCGA campus
• Ability to remain stationary approximately 50% of the time, with regular movement around campus
• Ability to lift and move security and IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work from a ladder or in mechanical/electrical spaces when required
