Job summary

New York Edge is seeking an Esports Specialist for Queens to provide targeted esports instruction in after-school programs. The role focuses on mentoring youth, leading the Esports Model, and guiding students in responsible gaming and teamwork.

The position is part-time, 9-15 hours per week, with afternoon hours 2:30 pm–5:30 pm, at NYC public schools and related community activities. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching and mentoring youth in a structured setting.
• Ability to follow and adapt a curriculum for different skill levels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Motivate students to engage actively in daily esports activities and skill development.
• Ensure lesson plans are structured, age-appropriate with clear learning goals.
• Communicate with Program Director and Sports & Wellness Department about schedules and events.
• Encourage participation in school-wide esports activities and competitions.
• Enforce behavior rules and safety procedures for esports activities.
• Lead and promote various esports genres and teamwork exercises.
• Explain strategies, safety procedures, and responsible gaming practices.
• Prepare facilities and equipment for group esports activities.
