Ballard High School and the Ballard Community School District seek a Designated Esports Coordinator to oversee the esports program in coordination with IAHSEA standards.
Responsibilities include staying current on rules, managing rosters and coaching staff, enforcing positive conduct, monitoring online behavior, verifying eligibility, and fielding teams for scheduled events.
Ballard High School and the Ballard Community School District agree to adhere to the IAHSEA Expectations of a School or School District (2026–27).
Esports at Ballard High School operates under the same eligibility framework as all other Ballard athletic and activity programs. Participation and attendance is a privilege, not a right.
Esports athletes at Ballard High School are representatives of the school and the Ballard community, and are held to the same standard as athletes in any other school-sponsored activity.
The DEC agrees to fulfill all responsibilities in the IAHSEA Expectations of a Designated Esports Coordinator, including: remaining current on IAHSEA rules and communications via the website and Discord; managing rosters, schedules, and coaching-staff awareness; modeling and enforcing positive conduct; monitoring and reporting online toxicity or harassment; verifying student eligibility; fielding competitive teams for all scheduled events; and, upon full membership, voting in association ballots and attending the IAHSEA Annual Meeting each June. The DEC may also serve as a coach. If the DEC role changes hands, Ballard will notify the IAHSEA and name a successor without interruption to the program.
